I have a friend who moved into an old house as a renter in Western North Carolina ~11 months ago along with a roommate who moved in who has been there for 2 monthsBoth of them recently have been reporting symptoms associated with exposure to mold lately such as a deep cough, fatigue, joint stiffness, and dizziness.

Not a big carpet fan, but if already in place and serviceable, here are a few steps I have tried:1) I have had some luck with sprinkling in the Arm and Hammer (big Costco bag) in the carpet, then brushing it in with a stiff broom (gets dusty so wear a mask).

One really good reason we would want to understand these laws very clearly or as clear as we can for now is the stiff penalties if found to be non-compliant and worse if found in direct violation.
