I just recently joined for having a fire lit under me with Rich Dad Poor Dad, and I found off this site the warnings to avoid the "program" they offered.

This is especially true in common areas which may be lit 24/7.

I put a brief blog on "Classics of Landlord Lit" if your ambition should include some buy and hold rentals.

I would read up on landlording some here on BP and in other books (I have a blog post up on Classics of Landlord Lit, mentioning some older books but all probably free in your library or for a song used)...

Welcome Brad, and on the multifamily buy and hold, I have posted some classics of landlord lit up in my blog, all books that are probably free at the library or in the used book store for a buck or two,,,

On the buy and hold side I put some classic of landlord lit in my blog (all older books that should be free in the Bellingham libraries for an economical start)... 

But I would look at all the  landlord education you can get (see the BP blogs, podcasts, one coming up this week, forums) and books (mentioned some older ones you could get free at library or low cost used in my blog on classics of landlord lit)....

Learn all you can...I also have a blog on classics of landlord lit (all older books that should be free at the library, I wouldn't buy anything, just read the free stuff here, at library and listen to podcasts)Best of luck...
