What I did in one apartment that really helped was to dismantle the bseboard heating elements if you have them, and spray them with an odo ban solution, then scrub as best you can, then respray with bleach.

Half the time it's stuff that takes 15 minutes to fix like black stuff on the shower's ceiling (wipe off with bleach, etc).

Mildew build up on the drain tubes-a simple fix of spraying bleach solution into air intake area.  

Whatever doesn't clean by using Scrubbing Bubbles, a spray of bleach will solve.

When I have mold issues i spray the mold with bleach.

Home depot has tablets to put in the pan but you can pour bleach water through the tube to clean algae/muck out.

If the subfloor is damaged, mop with bleach mixture, cover with 2 coats of Kiltz and one coat of transparent sealer.

Additionally, I took the window panes out and placed them in a kiddie pool full of bleach for a few minutes and then pressure washed them clean.

Bleach the heck out of the basement!

They celebrated his sons birthday, and Christmas at our house (without the hotel staff bugging them, nor the awesome bleach-y hotel smell).
