You may administer your IRA, but may not benefit from or provide services to your IRA. 

They'll administer the projects procurement policy, scope of work, specifications, draw schedules, required permits, communications, execution schedules, liscence & insurance limits etc.

Sometimes cities will help with administering grants as well so I would also talk to them.Hope this helps!

However, you still need to register the LLC in the state you are holding the property to benefit from the laws of that state, so it likely makes more sense to just do that, and cut down on administer fees such as multiple state registration filings, accounting costs, etc.   

Each state is administered separately so there are some variation state by state.

You do not have to follow the standard process of running this activity through the SDIRA custodian, which causes delays and incurs all sorts of per-item charges from the custodian.The SDIRA has one asset, which is your LLC, and you generally just pay a small annual maintenance fee to an SDIRA custodian to administer that asset.
