The legality depends on the laws where you live.Hiring low-life criminals with baseball bats has been touted by some here as a solution to this problem, but that is DEFINITELY ILLEGAL.

I look at those things, think about how close they are to a house in terms of maintenance and how little value they add, and all I can see is a great big dumpster or two as the appropriate solution.
