My goal is to start learning and hope to buy my second (we own our current home) property within the year to start my real estate investment journeyI got interested in Real Estate investing because I want to be able to have a large family and give them everything they need (college tuition, family trips, emergency fund) and want to grow a portfolio with constant cash flow to allow for these things. 

Family emergencies and unexpected illnesses all can come to pass.  

My family is from the Philippines so I wanted to drop in and say hi!

The pre-existing condo conversion was super easy as it already was a multi-family, so the de-facto split already happened in the past. 

Also they're not looking just to make money, well some of them are, but MOST are looking for a second home for their families and children to grow up with the same summer and holiday experiences they had as a child. 

I'm looking at Section 8 or Multi family investing.

Thanks,Chris @Chris Heinmiller We've been working with our local Habitat to create a program where we could partner to help them expand beyond SFH into multi-family and townhome options.

The sales agent said he's built and sold other homes through her, so at first, it seemed like he is more like a GC who does this on the reg, but now it sounds like he and his family used the property last summer for family gatherings, etc. and actually lived there for awhile. 

I would only rent to friends and family I trust 100% and even then I am probably giving them a break or cutting them some slack because they have a temporary situation.I would really only do it as a favor.
