Personally, I would rather live down south but I would suggest driving by both areas during day and night and seeing where you would prefer to lay your head at night.

When I pointed it that the nearest branch was a 10 hour drive, it didn't phase the customer service person in the slightest.

Discrimination isn't even a factor; the quality of the tenant is.
