If the taxpayer meets the safe harbor, the sale is deemed to be by reason of that event. 

Cash buyers for out of state investors can be found at real estate meetups and events, here on BP, Facebook, and other online locations.

Awesome event, great speakers, better networking, tasty lunch and beverages.

I would not use a 3 month event as a deciding factor, esepcially something that has the appearance of discrimination. 

I have joined a number of groups on Meetup.com to try to find events and joined WAREI on Facebook as well. 

The company has determined that they will not be able to reverse the wire (which was unlikely in any event, anyway).

You are local to LA, so we have vendor expo's and one day event over the weekend's, go there and spend few hours and connect/learn/explore, most of them are free but they will try to sell something :)
