  - Generate $5k in monthly income within the 5 years.My ultimate goal is to create a portfolio of cash flow positive real estate investments to:- Help my father retire so that he can travel with my mother, enjoy life, and discover new hobbies and passions.- Allow me to make jewelry because it's my passion, not my passion that pays the bills- Free up my time to pursue travel and my interest in martial arts. 

I am currently working an 8-5 job and want to get into something I would enjoy more.

I’ve been interested in RE investing for several years, as I’ve found that I’m good at digging up opportunities and closing, and I enjoy crunching numbers and analyzing problems.I’m interested in meeting people who have set up private money / private equity deals in the past, especially if it involved single-family residential buy-and-hold strategy.I’m also looking at pulling the trigger on the local Lifestyles Unlimited seminar, because I have a lot to learn, and also because I want access to what Lifestyles considers “best practices” in what will be my market.I’m happy to hear all sides of any idea and my hobbies include playing devil’s advocate and drumming at my local church.

Turned out we really enjoyed it and are now looking to buy our 2nd investment property.

When this is done, the cash flow off the building will more than cover my housing expenses.One final observation - if you think it is going to take you time to watch the markets before making a decision, consider becoming a lender over the short run (either by investing in hard money loans or re-performing notes).
