I eventually found one a couple months later, but I enjoyed the process because I learned a lot of bank requirements and what was needed on my end to make their job easier.Another great idea would be to go to your local REIA and ask around to see who other investors in the MFR space are using on their deals.I hope this helps and Best of Luck!

@Adrian Reyes I run a small vacation rental duplex on Carolina beach in North Carolina.

Maui is a small market, and I managed vacation rentals in most building, so I'm sure I know the place. 

Search "Subject to" and you'll have hours of enjoyment reading the posts.

Some sold through tax sales.One where the county and municipality vacated the foreclosure.   

I gave them a 14 day notice to pay or vacate.

Taking it a step further, I thought it would be a good idea to consider multifamily properties where I could rent out the other unit(s) to cover the mortgage (or even better produce positive cash flow) while reserving one unit for my vacation home.
