I have about seven months left before I transition out of the military and spend approximately one year on the road with my wife.

Short term: I hope to be able to purchase either a duplex (inspired by listening to BP podcasts) or another home that can serve as a dual residence and rental property in one of the many up and coming neighborhoods in central Houston (I have my eye on a few in particular).Long term: Make two single family rental purchases a year in the Houston areas as buy and hold properties and eventually transition to multifamily units.  

I'm seeking any guidance, tips, etc. about getting started at low income, because I'm currently a server at a restaurant making a transition into Realty. 

It made the transition smooth for the tenants and smooth for us.

Interested in doing more house hacking and transition into something bigger!
