The only things different about Section 8 are they have an additional income line (assistance) and some additional regulations on the property as a result of the Section 8 lease and inspections.

Low income tenants were very difficult to deal with, because they simply didn't have savings and any emergency resulted in them using rent money, with the idea that they'll catch up before the eviction was finalized.

In the event that they can sell recreational marijuana in the future, it may increase a different kind of traffic, but I wouldn't worry about crime as much as other tenants in the center not being a good match if it's not free standing.
