Most agree that this type of note is next to impossible to purchase, as a note.The servicer, who speaks for all of the owners, etc., is willing to negotiate a reduced payoff however. 

I think for what you are looking to do, I would probably suggest hiring help to assist your husband and keep that high quality of craftsmanship.

Can't speak for Zanesville exactly, but I invest in Circleville & Chillicothe, and Chillicothe is *about* the same distance from downtown Columbus.Personally, I wouldn't trade investing in this kind of area for anything.

The theory was this would limit risk and lead to higher quality, longer term tenants that would be less likely to give me headaches. 

If so, then financially speaking you should access that equity.
