We did that on the first property we bought, then never again.As an investor you should be patient and look for deals that meet one of the following:1) You buy below market value2) You buy with little to nothing down3) You buy with seller financingThis past December, we bought a package of 4 properties that met ALL 3 of these!

The "base package" items are typically the least trendy options and you will end up paying more for things that do not really cost the builder much more money, as they are basing the costs on the value to you, not cost to them.
