No question is ever too small or “stupid” here—curiosity and determination are key to success in this business.

However, the only reference to Homeland Security I’ve seen is a post of a seeming “wish list” of investigative agencies by the OP in the Norada thread, who, if you read his posts, is obviously less than a reliable source of information and consumed by rage.  

I'm specifically interested in "main street" properties with a downstairs retail space, upstairs apartment(s).If you know of anyone with this sort of experience, I'd REALLY appreciate the connection.

welcome @Cam Caraher and congrats on joining BP, this place is the start for many, sure was for me longer ago than I care to admit.I'm not personally in your market, although was born in dorchester and grew up in NH, but this is a great place to meet locals.If you have not already a great starting point is the Meetups posted here, just search for your area and see if any meetups are happening. 

So spend NO money on advertising and use that money to make our product stand out.. this has led us to raise our prices Far above our competition more than makes up for it and we sell them as fast as we can build them.. for us thats delivering 2.5 homes per month.

You can - 1) establish a trust for asset protection, 2) utilize the Homestead Exemption for property protection, 3) consider tenancy by the entirety for marital property (this might just be applicable to California, my home state)4) make sure you have adequate liability insurance for additional protection, 5) think about forming a business entity to shield assets, 6) and have proper estate planning for asset distribution.Seek tax and legal advice from experts in your state.
