Often times it's not discovered until the police get involved (because of illegal activity at the house) and/or the fire department has to respond because the growers did some funky electrical wiring and ended up burning the house down.

Only AFTER all items are properly sent and received must a mortgagee respond to the request for relief.  

Unfortunately I cannot respond in full here at the moment but will do so later.

If the condo association wasn't maintaining the common areas (AC units, windows, pavement, roof), it was a sign the board might be bad.My current condo board is pretty good, but slow to respond.
