It seems like a far more probable proposition by controlling more in assets and allowing capital to accumulate over some extended period of time than it does operating tens or hundreds of thin cash flow deals and optimizing IRRs and such.

After doing some research, I came to the conclusion that with most methods proposed in various forums, the landlord is at risk of chargebacks at any time for several months after the payment, leaving the landlord to the mercy of the tenant for an extended period of time, with little to no recourse.

The CRA will extend a credit to you for the income tax paid in the U.S.A. and you will pay the delta between that amount and your marginal tax rate here in Canada.Things are a little different if your U.S.A. property is held within a U.S.A. incorporated entity (other then LLC, which the CRA does not recognize as a general rule) and things are slightly different again if that entity is a child of a Canadian corporation.Best advise I can give is to get a coffee and visit your accountant.

Unless there were something like that, I have to limit my representation to US law, so if you were fined by the Chinese SEC for failing to file some pre-sale notice, for example, the advice I provide you wouldn't extend to compliance with Chinese securities laws.
