They read  twisted news story and know nothing about the retail space because they do multifamily or SFR.If people are not an expert on the space then they should not paint broad brushstrokes of an industry based on a sound bite they heard.Of course some cold belt states with net migration moving away and overbuilding will have long vacancies but those properties should not have been built in the first place.
