Speaking with more experienced landlords on this particular charity, they pay the rent for 3 months, then the family can get 3-6 months additional assistance, then it's 100% on the family after that.

Remember that even if you have to borrow money the previous owner will typically be paid in full at the closing. 

Fast forward a few weeks, I found another but this time I am borrowing a portion of the needed funds from family and covering the rest with what I have available. 

I have friends in the banking industry that tell me every day the worst place to borrow money from is a bank!

I called a few numbers for tenant rights, one of the told me, "if you're not at fault I'm being evicted, the landlord who gives you the eviction notice is supposed to pay you for relocation assistance."
