I know you state you are comfortable now, but if you are hoping on retiring before social Security kicks then you MUST plan this on replacing much of your income. 

It is a byproduct of a wealthy society and social medial.

Given the downward pressure that lockdowns and social distancing continue to exert on new construction, do not expect an oversupply of homes anytime soon.

I suppose it's a whole other story if you own in the midwest slums but live on the coasts and brag about your arriviste lifestyle and personal growth every day on social media.

However, we are in an isolated mountain town and not a socially active area like a beach. 

The others have given you good advice and I would add that your generation has the advantage of having grown up with technology/social media.
