The rest of the internet is a freaking wild west shoot out of crappy info with regard to tax and real estate investing.There are a couple of CPA/EAs in the community who are pretty dedicated to trying to combat those posts and we go after it with a fervor.  

Apparently there is whole section of bigger pockets dedicated to REIA groups but if you spend a couple seconds goggling real estate meetup groups in Fresno , you will see a few of the popular ones and  - I even believe there is one near you that plays "Cash Flow" on Saturdays  - I attend a meetup every week here in Fresno and if you reach out to me, I'll be more than happy to share what meetups I'm involved in. 

I'll have one of my team members dedicated to this the next few weeks.
