You are still at risk, but it is way more likely to happen in a major metro area than let's say Ocean Shores, Longbeach, or Moclips.Make sure you don't rent more than 30 days.

I would look into the permits and making sure you know you can get the certificate of occupancy ahead of time based on construction projections/blue prints.
