I am currently employed with the federal government. 

I own my own business and as many self employed people do, they write off as much as they can. 

I like stuff with a better commute to major employment centers, but it’s part of my investment thesis, and I just understand it better..

I'm establishing relationships with community banks because they're less concerned with my employment status and more interested in the return on our future investments.

Wow, if you're also paying employer side of FICA taxes for these folks and the additional overhead of HR/management, I just can't imagine that using unskilled labor is cheaper than skilled labor.
