Usually they are receptive to entertaining the concept.

simply do what has been advised here by @Jerry Puckett, @Michael Quarles and others -- say something to the effect of, "Well, my experience is when people are seriously entertaining the idea of selling, they have a ballpark of what they want to get for their house.  

I am currently attending a real estate academy but the cost they are charging to attend their "core courses" is pretty steep (its actually in the thousands), so at this point I'm entertaining other alternatives on ways to accomplish the same task with less money (the task being: finding and closing my first wholesale deal).

Another anonymous party found me very entertaining and helped me out a bit :)This may seem like a trivial amount of dough, but I can assure you that this small cash advantage will probably take months or years off my poverty timetable.I have no doubt that in the future my BiggerPockets shenanigans can lead to a lot more commas and 0's in that figure!!!

Sure, you can probably get the balance transfer at 1.5% or even 0% in some cases, but I just ran with the most common % fee.I'm not even going to entertain the HELOC idea  :)  I'll just quote this again.
