If you are single, look for uneven multis where you can live in a small unit and rent out the bigger one (e.g. - 1/1 and a 3/2 instead of 2/1 and 2/1)2.

We have multiple single family rentals in Cahokia Heights that we purchased about 1-1/2 years ago. 

I have recently bought a 2 bedroom single family in Cahokia.

I'm a single father, been raising my two daughters since they were born, and am ready to start building my wealth through real-estate.

When all the dust settles, and the  person searching is tired and discouraged and gives up, Jerry may not have bought  a single lot, but he's made some money from the training he sold you, which was his main goal from the beginning!

And, personally, I don't think a brand attached to 5 single family rentals is worth a premium.

I wouldn't suggest you buy a single-family home to live in because the additional cost outweighs the benefits.

Consider looking for a large single-family home with the ability to add more rooms or bathrooms, then rent it out by the room. 

I just purchased a single-family home in a college town.
