For example my nightly minimum is $200 but its listed for $340 a night on airbnb before the cleaning and booking fees are added in other words, i the property, owner get $150 per night from airbnb, vacasa takes $190 per night from airbnb and then charges fees.

But if you to a more wise and slow approach, you can find other ways to generate additional income, build up a 25% DP on a duplex that cash flows after all expenses and you have an EF fund, well you will sleep better at night and the odds that your investment will survive the tough times in your life is far greater then someone who sleep well at night with tons of debt who if anything should go wrong, which it does in life that person may be bankrupt.

Without knowing more about the location though, if this cabin has direct water views and is able to sleep at least 6 people, a fully renovated version of your cabin could probably pull in at least $600/night in the summer without much effort.

Hey Tom I have a lot of experience here in Pinellas County, currently managing about 65 units.I would recommend staying out of Tarpon as they are strict 30 night minimum rental, and the demand is not as high as Clearwater/St Pete which also have 30 night minimums.
