A lot of houses here are already pier and beam so having a house that is slightly raised is not at all unusual.

But unless you walk the property on the inside and look at the beams, floor joists, subflooring Etc with an experienced I ( I also rehab and have been doing so for the last 18 years) to determine whether or not it's still in good condition, you will have a hard time telling whether or not a property needs to be knocked down.I would never tell anyone to walk away from a project but I would suggest that you either bring in an experienced contractor or partner with someone who knows what they're doing.

I also noted areas where the home is higher than it was when we finished this could be caused by the slab sagging between the beams in areas that do not have piers or they could be the result of poor drainage...At this time I can find nothing that is in need of warranty repair."

It's a pier and beam foundation, and they've left the vents covered around the base of the home, so I know I should air it out down there by removing those as well.

@Ashley Benning Are you including the cost of the cracks that will be caused in the walls and the leveling of the floors and the roof that will have to be inspected since all of those posts and beams tie together?
