If I do change it out, would you recommend fiber-cement/hardi or LP or what else?

I agree with @Dusty Corning that LLC would not provide additional tax benefits.

Timber is very much regionalized .. by species and use of the wood products for fiber.  

Because of the Dow, Corning, and Dupont merger, many people are being laid off and moving out of Midland.

I was recently quoted $4000 for 10 carbon fiber wall anchors To fix secure a bowing basement wall.  

We have gotten down to either vinyl siding or cement fiber.

Paid 30k for "properly" removing and disposing it, with all the testing and insulation, that is how alarming it is, if you don't "touch" it, it is fine, and peeling something is more than "touching", right now asbestos fibers might be circulating in your house, it will be like that and you might inhale it.

I tried to emulate the colors in this flip of yours - http://www.123flip.com/house-pics/the-corn-house-staging-pics-rehab-2/I picked the siding color "Light Maple", so that the garage vinyl siding will match the house. it came out a little more yellow than beige than I would of liked, but overall I think it came out good.
