It's possible your loan officer is either unaware of the guidelines or his company has an overlay.As a lender who specializes in VA financing, I reach out to the VA Regional Loan Center of jurisdiction (based on what state the property is in) anytime I have a scenario like this, that way I have VA's position in writing to submit to my underwriters.Aside from the fact that both units are under lease for 10 more months, is there any other reason you could not occupy the home within 60 days?

I believe I can invest and then take out whatever I have to pay the IRS next year so at least it makes me some money before I part ways with it.My long term goals are just to wealth build with my cash.I dont plan on needing anything for another house, college, etc any time soon.I may buy a car and travel but again I can take that out of the brokage account when I needed so at least it makes some money till then.

Since it’s also on a corner lot, it will connect the SoMa neighborhood (all their restaurants and business) to the Pettaway neighborhood where $15MM in new commercial/residential spaces are being built on top of a VA hospital remodel to 140-160 luxury apartments (70+MM rehab) that is just 2 blocks away.Willing to share more information at anytime.
