In the years following the foreclosure crisis, Wall Street drove a rise in the share of homes purchased by landlords, as private equity firms bought thousands of cheap homes.

Reason being:  1) cheap price.  2)  Small footprint, the rehab wasn't overwhelming.  3) The drive that we had to make each week gave me the opportunity to listen to over 12 hours of BP podcasts!  

House that hasn't been updated since it was built in the 70's.It is one of three houses on a 300 acre cattle ranch.Through cheap rent I was able to become debt free and have offered to buy it from my Landlords.I have developed good level of trust with them, and they are entertaining the idea.I called the planning department at the county office and they said this area (Wheatland California) is zoned ag land and could only be split up into 80 acre parcels.The only other option they gave was for the owners to separate the homesteads from the land, but all three houses would still be together.My question is has anybody ever been in a situation like this before?

Real rents in my area have not risen in over a decade due to an influx of cheap houses being built.

The good news is the properties in North Carolina are extremely cheap compared to those of Southern California.

Of course, Penn State adorns everything & everyone so no diversity of college fans … except for a few weeks several years ago, sadly.It’s cheap to live here, you can drive from any suburb to Downtown in 10 minutes (really), the Metro area has almost 2 million people and 1.9 live in the burbs.

Landlords like to do cheap crap to something and call it mildew so they do not have to spend the big bucks.

A civil engineer can/will quote you to take it from start to finish, but it will not be cheap and no guarantee the engineer gets it approved.
