The issue I am having is that I am located in NY i.e. that is where my primary address is.

This Friday my wife and I are going to be taking a trip to look at a property that consists of approximately one acre of land located in Maine.

You can go even a bit further into the "middle of nowhere" and find fantasic property but the area is growing and developing fast so wondering how far out to look within reason.If anyone has timing/location feedback or opinions, I'd love to hear it.ThanksMatt

Hi Brian,  no, I don't have experience with out of state investments, I do have extensive experience in running out of state construction, the rehab part is where I'm very comfortable with, now I need to get a team out there that can point out the right locations, PM, legal team and so on... 

I'll say doing your research on landlord-tenant laws is crucial, consider property management if you're not into self managing your property, secure financing, crunch the numbers and prioritize location and property condition when searching.
