I love technology and design, so I figured I would get my Masters in Architecture, and eventually be an architect-developer.  

However, there is talk that this area could re-develop in the near future.

As far as books, after having read a lot of them over the past couple of years here's what I would suggest. 1) Start with personal development books 2) Next move on to business books 3) From there pick up some real estate books.

That date arrives next week and I will begin the mortgage approval process on that day.I think it's important to develop a goal and work towards that goal every day.

This would be my first experience in a true investment property and I plan on managing the properties using Buildium as my software platform (company I work for).

But now I'm thinking of venturing out.I had always run under the assumption that buying plots of land and developing couldn't really be profitable in my area, as land prices immediately around me can be a bit insane.

For example, the profit split on a ground-up development deal would be much different than what you’d expect to see on a plain-vanilla cash flow play.
