I currently have almost a 600 credit score and was shot down on an FHA loan, minimum is a 620-640.I am looking for any help with quick ways to build credit, or at alternative to doing an FHA loan? 

Is there an alternative you would recommend? 

Luckily I do not need much work done other than a new roof which can be handled in an alternative way.

The only exception is if you buy something totally dilapidated and those properties are quickly snapped up by wholesalers and local developers. 2-Focus on second and third tier resort areas that are in states that no one thinks about. 3-Focus on second and third tier resort areas near the big tourist resort cities.4- The only alternative is to create a resort area.

Alternatively, there are some overlooked properties that have been on the market a long time and you usually have more negotiating room with those properties, and more time.

Alternatively, if after the auction they decided to list the property with a realtor above the auction amount in hopes of earning back some cash, I would not be able to put in an offer due to all my cash being tied up in the auction (it would be much preferable for me to buy via this more traditional route, as then I would have more regular financing options available, even if it was a bit more expensive).
