If is your primary residence is not an investment, but if you plan on staying there for at least 7-10 years I wouldn't stress to much if the prices are high or low at this mortgage rates.

Being a landlord can be stressful at times especially when you are new- not knowing how to choose tenants, treat tenants, hiring lousy contractors, etc. 

Your brother changing his mind at the last minute is stressful but understandable.

Lease it to a great little insurance company, it's a very low stress little project.Now this area has blown up recently and property values have risen quite a bit.

While we made money on all the rest (it's definitely possible to make money), the headaches and stress of dealing with various Milwaukee-specific issues was enough to drive me out of that market...Now, if this is a rehab for rental, that's a different story. 

The most stressful thing about this whole process was the dirt.  

Now that I'm aware of the scam I just say, "thanks, but no thanks" no matter how hard they try to stress the issue.

From one agent to another, I can't stress this point enough.That said, as an agent, you should help facilitate the deal and provide your input on the due diligence items provided, assuming you have the appropriate expertise.

Could save us from quite a bit of stress.

I agree they definitely are depreciating "assets" but if your car brings you joy....don't stress about the naysayers.
