I work in the Loop, live in West Loop, and ride my bike to work currently. 15 minutes door to door. 

Or they can try to ride it out but it looks like they are better than $500/mo in the hole.

I love that you shared the lessons learned and explained your process in a organized fashion.  

It may be difficult to predict what will happen in your area in the next 5 years (or maybe not, maybe you have a good outlook on what your area will be doing), so one of the things you'll have to consider is riding out the 5 years and making the decision at that point.

In person sometimes the view ( emotion) tries to over ride the numbers (logic).

However, I think you´ll find that most real estate investors do it the old fashioned way by focusing on finding motivated sellers rather than buyers.

The Southside area is a quick commute to downtown but riding the bus is a pain!!
