I think it’s because I don’t know where to start or even on how to buy one.

The reason you have several potential approaches is because we are all starting without all of the info.

There's definitely a learning curve but as long as you're prepared for it all both mentally and financially, it can be extremely rewarding.Also starting up my first STR here in CA soon... just my ADU we're almost done with at our primary.

Try starting with the lender who gave you the original 2nd loan, that’s how i started and then started making calls.

We will work our way in ascending order to the number one ranked HOA, starting with an HOA that still deserves merit as an STR option.

You could increase the timeline and possibly save money by having other people do some of the work.

I know on my new builds that are 700 to 1 mil I get 10 to 20k and normally its just held in escrow. it is non refundable once we start putting in custom colors etc.
