Not surprisingly, they're making this into a giant drama. 12 texts and one email later...They're saying it's their legal right to come next week and see the damage with their own eyes, take their own photos, and get professionals to give cost estimates.

The pillars of our local economy remain strong and improving, large amounts of migration to Texas cities is still in progress, new businesses are arriving (especially like the California giants making the leap to Texas), positive COVID vaccine news, and all the things I mentioned in the post should hold firm barring any major unforeseen meltdowns.

This is more of a light hearted story: When Epic Systems built their giant new campus in Verona, WI, they ended up not passing the fire inspection because the underground parking clearance was too low for the fire trucks and ground areas were not supported enough for a fully loaded firetruck to access parts of the building because of the surrounding marsh lands.

I've got a raft of big ones:the first was tying up a property as a sure thing, and less than a year later conditions changed and I was not able to extricate myself from that.The next was (real estate one) was not selling my residence in 2001-2002 as prices rose, and moving into my rental, to take advantage of tax benefits and having the ability to take my sale money, banking it, waiting for TODAY, to buy as prices are going down.
