Probably 80% of the folks I see in criminal court are because of an underlying drug or alcohol issue, 10% are stupid (teenagers) or lazy such as shoplifting or vandalism, another 5 or 6% have mental health issues of moderate to high levels, and a few are just truly dangerous folks who steal or hurt people just for their own selfish desires.We truly need to find an answer.

Everything is a "felony" these days. two DUI's in 5 years for example. the second is a felony, now while someone who made the choice to drive drunk(which alot of us have) is a bad idea, would you consider this person a "dangerous felon" not really.
