There are a lot of great tertiary rental markets in the 50 to 70k range around the country no arguing that fact.But there is also a crap load of appreciation wealth that his made on the west coast NO arguing that and again its timing.you bought west coast post GFC you made a freaking killing in appreciation far more than you could in rental income anywhere in the country  ( big caveat ) you need to sell now to realize that...
