I'm looking for some tips...or mane just a social platform to share how unhappy having to do this has made me feel.

Matt:Surely you are not implying you would decline an applicant, because they did not provide there social insurance number?  

I blame social media and my lazy generation..

And then, because we all need to socialize a little bit, try to attend any one REI groups in you area.  

But, I had a relative who was rich and her only income was Social Security.

In those cases, I've  sometimes seen incredible turnarounds when the person threatens to take the information public on social media, blogging etc. 

I worked (until I retired this past March) in a VA Medical Center for many years and the social workers connected with our VASH program VERY closely monitored the vets in this program making sure they met their share of the rent and utilities.Gail
