Personally, and I know many others here feel the same way, once our "financial" need has been achieved, there is no greater satisfaction, no greater success, than in the success of others we have had a hand in...the "internal" need.Our personal net worth is not, and can never be measured, by "$$$$"...We can't take it with us. 

Alternatively, sometimes when I don't have an RVM available, I ask them how much they think their house, all fixed up, is worth. I

Also, any tips you can give in terms of finding a website where I can do more research about investment worthy neighborhoods?

For whatever it's worth, I hired two people off Craigslist (set it up as a large payout if we closed a deal off their magnets.

Try to tease that out (if they aren't just spilling their guts) and then ask some basic questions about the property (beds, baths, how old is it, WHAT DO YOU THINK IT IS WORTH - I try to slide that in there in the general questions because then later in the conservation I already know what they think they are getting for the property and I don't have to ask it as a separate question).
