Keep in mind there is no REI groups here (that's another story)1) Buying lists from people subscribed to Money / Kipplinger / trade magazines (ie dentists, accountants)2) Shotgun approach mailers to affluent neighborhoods3) ???

This is mainly done in one off trades, where one loan is being sold and purchased.

Now since my ex-employer is not a publicly traded company, I would need to sell these stocks back to them.

And those do help the newbies from getting in hot water but they are very specific types of investments and there is generally a trade-off on appreciation/maintenance costs/and general PIA factor as you go up.

I know more about this business than I care to as I am heavily invested in a number of marijuana businesses, some of which are publicly traded.  

I think many folks would love to trade place's with him... :)  they just don't want to admit it :)
