If I would have let those that laughed at me bring me down I would not be able to stay at home with my 10 month old baby girl and work all at the same time.With that said, my advice to you is to start out with a Realtor that knows the area, and it seems like @Beau Miller will be a good one since he is a Realtor AND investor.  

If you want sometime, we could grab a coffee to discuss investing in the GTA. 

Grab a few books too, there's a handful on multifamily that would help you out.

For now I'm going to peruse the forums, keep churning through the vids, and maybe grab a book to learn more before I dive headlong into my first purchase (for profit) ;)

There's an awesome one "up the road" a bit that I would love to grab, but there must be a reason why its not being scooped up by area builders..

Well this girl came along and was more than happy to come over and help out with painting, stripping wall paper, and cleaning up the place while I was there every night after work rehabbing a couple of the units.

Network there as well as on BP and grab lunch (or coffee) with people and ask lots questions!
