I have never encountered an HOA that was super friendly to landlords who owned in the building.

This is a really interesting topic, I had encountered challenges when I decided to make my first investment, I always thought it would be fantastic to have some similar minded, similar positioned individuals I can align with and just share honest and open information.

Chances are if you encounter someone that isn't patient enough to sit with you, learn about your needs and help you develop a plan as you explore multifamily investing you are talking to the wrong broker. 

Stretch to make this happen, ensure you have adequate liquidity to survive any bumps you may encounter down the line and you should be happily pleased in the end.
