If there's a common heating system for the entire building (or multiple units within it), that would be an additional expense for you.

I would need the 20% because it would be an investment property, closing costs, etc However, I am not clear as of how much my income would I need to have in order to qualify and have 2 mortgages at once...I doubt my salary would meet the requirements.

Begin thinking:  As an owner, I have the right to rent, sell, paint, abuse and even burn any thing I own (yeah,  property would need to be owned free and clear).if I own it, I can manage it.Any law contrary would be an abuse of common sense and we might see another Tea Party :grin::Thinking no longer required{ yes, that's snide, satirical & couldn't resist :sigh: }

Hi All,I thought this category would be an appropriate place to submit this post.So I was working my 9-5 today and one of my co-workers mentioned that he and his wife considered purchasing a 2 family property in PA to work toward generating some extra income.

Repairing houses can be a hassle and it can be an even bigger hassle if you don't know what you are doing.

I am very familiar with the just north of Boston area, Malden/Medford/Saugus/Lynnfield etc maybe we can have coffee sometime!!

This may be an excellent thing to partner with - especially if you haven't done this before.
