The big contributors were the remodeled kitchen, with backsplashes, tile floor, refinished cabinets, open shelving, new fixtures.

But also floating shelves are in so I may do some in the space instead.

Budget about $8k overall - my initial reaction is to replace rugs in bed room and living space (may change to vinyl or laminate flooring in living space), update vinyl floor in kitchen to tile / bathroom to new tile, paint kitchen cabinets to a light bright color (and walls), do 4 recess lights in bed room (no lights currently) and do floating shelves in the living space to create more storage opportunities.Appreciative for all thoughts and ideas about how to make my home more attractive / protected for better tenants. 

Not sure why anyone would suggest that this money go to a corruption laden municipal government instead of to the employees who helped build the company up to what it is today.

I realize that this will vary with area, but am curious to know what if anything people are charging for a one-car garage, attached (or detached) with additional storage space/shelves, whether the total cost if charging separate or roughly how much over regular rents, one should value this amenity.
