I think the old Greek would say fear is the emotion that would compel someone to invest in either. an innate feeling of survivalism from joining the herd or flock.There is another Greek name Narcissus who fell in love with his own image in a pool of water.  

Most of the herds are reactive which is why the tend to get marginal results in life.Right now I feel good about the economy but I also remember 90's crisis, 9/11 trade center event, and the massive fallout of 2007.

I do not know why the herds have this constant buy and sell mentality with stocks.

All the heat is done by old radiators with a 100 year old radiant heat furnace in the basement coated in asbestos that can't be removed because it's too large.
