All of these take time, effort, and or money. 

They are trying to protect you from yourself and your efforts to over leverage yourself. because that's how you'd get to your next post of when the house of cards starts falling down and crushing you under it all. 

It is a noble cause and one that can certainly be balanced, but it takes effort, and at some point, there will be a point where these tenants of yours may start to expect something that costs you real money and isn't necessary to provide them quality housing.
