My father has been in the lending and banking Industry for 40 years.

When I was younger, my father owned three buildings in an urban area on the main street, which is where I grew up. 

Recent events have pressed more of a NEED than a WANT- looking to get my brother-in-law into a flip or BRRRR-type property for a few reasons: 1) Get a young single father an alternative living arrangement to current situation 2) Allow him to pay down debt 3) Get him interested in real estate investing for lifelong financial benefit.

We are currently working on a potential first deal with my fathers vacant property!

I’m a married father of three (all under 5 yrs) with a good job and a spouse who likes the idea of financial freedom but is risk averse when it comes to investing.  

This was a block of land my Father in law purchased 50 years ago, built the apartments on some of the land and had plans for developing the rest until health issues got in the way.

Her husband and father came to help her move and stayed a couple days.

It’s been a great market for me so far as I was raised there and have a father that’s an agent that’s been helping me.I only invest in multi family there and like it quite a bit!

But, during the conversation,  I was informed that the property was in the seller's father and stepmother's name.

There's something to be said for going passive when you're ready...and the stress reduction that brings :) They're a great planning tool for sure.I found TICs and DSTs when doing research for a solution for my father who was in the hotel business and trying to find a tax favored exit strategy at retirement.
