Not that this is always indicative of heaving or moisture, but other signs can include cracked tiles or grout cracking in an otherwise good tile job, bulged wood flooring, corners of vinyl squares coming up, etc, especially if near a bath or kitchen sink.

The finish is very dull and gone in most areas, but I poured a little water on the floor and it doesnt readily penetrate through the painted spots as it does on the plain concrete.
